For those that wonder if our ancient selfs as Druids used Magick, Conjure, Spells and Curses (Rosc) and more. "Sacred Text" " Druidic Magic" (Ref.1), is a useful condensation of many ancient Bardic Druid documents to reference. Much thanks to its authors for all their hard work.
For the Modern day Druid there are so many new or rediscovered facts pointing to and hinting ton the old Occult sciences it is hard to keep up and cross correlate them. I will just touch on a few ideas in this Green Field or remerger and use.
The Mind and Chemistry:
The well proven effectiveness of Medical Drug Placebos, often working better than the real drug in field trials. And the issues of Believe on the part of the Magical worker or its subject is an interesting and complex subject. If one has even been the target of and untold Psychic attack or mind probe, or of a psychic physical injury healing, while you did not believe it could be done by the person in front of you. These sort of things will leave one in no doubt that the target of Magick does not need to believe or know it is being worked on them for it to be effective. Here I speak from personal experience from my early days of study (1960s-1970s) and student to many teachers and healers.
The self inducted Placebo effect on the Magical Worker should never be underestimated. The generation of Pheromones not only effects others but ones own smell / brain receptors also. And changes in ones mental states is well documented to release many psychotropic brian chemicals and hormones. Also the changes in the immune system of the blood shows these psychical states effectively radiate all through the physical body. So it seems very reasonable that they also alter the energetic or Auric body as well.
Dr. Franz Mesmer (18th century) a founder of Animal magnetism, mesmerism the precursor to modern Hypnotherapy was far closer (I believe) to the real truth than most hypnotherapist or those in the field of Human Psychology will publicly admit today. And yes I am a trained hypnotherapist also. The worst sounded awful garbled gnarly speaking Hypnotherapy teacher I ever had with the poorest induction take downs was the most power and effective Hypnotist I have ever met. Why because in private he would admit he was a Mesmerist and Psychic. May his Soul and blessing smile on us from SummerLand.
Druids and the Ley, Earth Magick:
The use of and reverence of sacred sites Stones Well, Springs Hills and Mountains is well recorded in history. I also believe the ancient Ley system was used as a major interactive power source for the Geomancy Arts and Science of the ancient Paleolithic to Neolithic Druids. No matter what names they may have know by at the time.
For Geomancy to me is far move than just divinatory readings. It is a direct connection between the "Druid's Mind" (Ref.2) and our seen and unseen World. The modern technological measurements of Earth's magnetic field abnormalities at sacred sites . Plus experiments of germinations of food seeds and hardiness of the plants that were first stored in ancient stone sites around the world. (Ref.3) Are all shining beacons in the night. looking across the seas of time to our ancient and lost but being rediscover Magical Arts Sciences.
