Short Walks in my Druidic Woods

Prelog : I find many that walk the Druid's way other share wisdom and quotes from modern and othen well read Authors of the popular Neo-Pagan Press.

Yet most of us have also walked these pages often years ago. Not that is not nice to do or even not educational and I am sure it is of help to some, even me as I have not read all and remember even less.

Still it would be nice to seem more personal Druid's wisdom insight and ponderings. Cups of Awen and Imbas pulled from our own deer wells and rough or polished stone we have picked up off our hard roads of experience.

To that end I and starting this new cover page for my own Acorns of the Ancient Oak that I have found, learned, been given by the fae  or commanded to scribe by storms filled with the lighting of Awen and thunder of Imbas. As the rain of wonder and lost wisdom showers down to the forest floor. Being but a small cauldron and seldom setting fully upright  I know I miss most but catch what I can.

A Druid's Training and Response::

The order of Druidic formal training or rank progression that I believe should be used. And the order using that training  when dealing with any situation in life  that comes along.

Order of Training on the Ley path of a Druid.
1) Vatis or Ovate as seer, psychic and prophet must learn to hear and see with the Psychic mind as first.
2) Bard as poet and warrior must learn to teach , how to bless and curse  (druid rhetoric {Rosc or roscanna magick poems} )   with the psychic mind, tongue and body as second.
3) Druid as wiser warrior and peace keeper must learn to deal with the Politics of Life both Human and Gods as last.

Order of use when wild and angry Bear is in your lifes path.

1) Vatis, see with all physical senses wide open  and then bring up your psychic mind and completely look at everything again in psychic light
.
3) Hold back the Bardic Barbed tongue and hand off Swords hilt. Let the Wise Druid in you study the Bear and use wisdom of the Owl and cunning of the Fox to plan your response.

2) Now take the Bard from your Crane's bag and let him use silver Tongue and Honey's Cauldron or Razor tongue and Adder's deadly Fang deadly with with the Bear.

And yes I do have trouble keeping the Bard in the Bag.

How does one make a Druid kenning name for oneself ?

Use your two favorite things about Druidry or your two best skills in it or mix them.

Find which Noun or Verb really fits you first. Then what two objects or actions you like use or describe somehow it.

Like if I were to do one for myself it mite be “Ley-Walker or Veil-Breaker”

Another example Example. I am like the Sea (ever changing yet always the same) so my kenning is Always-Salty. 
So here it is a Verb Noun mix. 

And looking Deeper.
“Always” The immortal Soul traver of Time and SummerLand. 
“Salty” Salt is the Giver and Taker of Life. As were the Old Ones.
So if you can weave deeper meaning and layers the more power when it is called.

One should remember, there are Names and there are Deeper Names untold.

Can one Altar and set of Tools be used to serve two Paths, Masters or different Gods / Goddesses

To a great extent the item on an Altar can be considered Memory Props or Clue Cards. They make in easer of the conscious mind to keep track of the Energy Reality in 3 or mire  Dimensions it is creating panting and maintaining while at the same time trying to communicate with something  or manifest something to take form add or direction in the physical world.

Having said that this is not fully true but will do here.

Now lets say you were going on stage and doing two plays that required a gun prop.  If both were set in about the same time period you could use the same prop for both plays. If one was in the 1700 and needed a one shot Flint Lock a Glock from the 21 century would not work well.
So if the items and tools serve the same memory purpose yes. If not no it will cause conscious and subconscious confusion or conflict to your energy creation.

Now for the Alar its self. Unless broken down and cleansed of residue energy from on worship to the next. This can also effect your great work.
Think of it like the stage again and its background props. Both you and your Audience expect certain things. If you called up Dr. Goebbels and had a lot of Nazie things as background to make him feel comfortable and respected. Then used the same stage background props for calling up another group /god or difference audience the background energy / Altar / props  could really screw the show!!!

I know I have used extreme examples that are no where near what you are doing. But they I hope give you a clearer idea of the underlying science of what you are doing.
This is one of the nice things of working outside with Nature, It is acceptable to all.

Druidic Magick Notes:

August 02, 2013 Happy Lughnasadh and Imbolc.

For those that wonder if our ancient selfs as Druids used Magick, Conjure, Spells and Curses (Rosc) and more. "Sacred Text" " Druidic Magic" (Ref.1), is a useful condensation of many ancient Bardic Druid documents to reference.  Much thanks to its authors for all their hard work.

For the Modern day Druid there are so many new or rediscovered facts pointing to and hinting ton the old Occult sciences it is hard to keep up and cross correlate them. I will just touch on a few ideas in this Green Field or remerger and use.

The Mind and Chemistry:
The well proven effectiveness of Medical Drug Placebos, often working better than the real drug in field trials. And the issues of Believe on the part of the Magical worker or its subject is an interesting and complex subject. If one has even been the target of and untold Psychic attack or mind probe, or of a psychic physical injury healing, while you did not believe it could be done by the person in front of you. These sort of things will leave one in no doubt that the target of Magick does not need to believe or know it is being worked on them for it to be effective. Here I speak from personal experience from my early days of study (1960s-1970s) and student  to many teachers and healers.

The self inducted Placebo effect on the Magical Worker should never be underestimated. The generation of Pheromones not only effects others but ones own smell / brain receptors also. And changes in ones mental states is well documented to release many psychotropic brian chemicals and hormones.  Also the changes in the immune system of the blood shows these psychical states effectively  radiate all through the physical body. So it seems very reasonable that they also alter the energetic or Auric body as well.

Dr.  Franz Mesmer  (18th century) a founder of Animal magnetism, mesmerism the precursor to modern Hypnotherapy was far closer (I believe) to the real truth than most hypnotherapist or those in the field of Human Psychology will publicly admit today. And yes I am a trained hypnotherapist also. The worst sounded awful garbled gnarly speaking Hypnotherapy teacher I ever had with the poorest induction take downs was the most power and effective Hypnotist I have ever met. Why because in private he would admit he was a Mesmerist and Psychic.  May his Soul and blessing smile on us from SummerLand.

Druids and the Ley, Earth Magick:
The use of and reverence of sacred sites Stones Well, Springs Hills and Mountains is well recorded in history.  I also believe the ancient Ley system was used as a major interactive power source for the  Geomancy Arts and Science of the ancient Paleolithic to Neolithic Druids. No matter what names they may have know by at the time.

For Geomancy to me is far move than just divinatory readings. It is a direct connection between the "Druid's Mind" (Ref.2)  and our seen and unseen World. The modern technological  measurements of Earth's magnetic field abnormalities at sacred sites . Plus experiments of germinations of food seeds and hardiness of the plants that were first stored in ancient stone sites around the world. (Ref.3) Are all  shining beacons in the night. looking across the seas of time to our ancient and lost but being rediscover  Magical Arts Sciences.
